Biodiversity.now is a multidisciplinary course, suitable for everyone interested in biodiversity issues. The course approaches the basics of biodiversity, the reasons for the ongoing biodiversity crisis, and its consequences for nature and society, presented by experts in various fields. The course encourages critical thinking on one’s own action in halting biodiversity loss and becoming part of the solution.
Learning goals:
- to recognize reasons for the ongoing biodiversity crisis and its consequences for human society and one’s personal life
- to explore one’s own connection to nature and the diverse values one assigns to it
- to recognize a variety of approaches and tools to protect biodiversity, increase biodiversity, and promote the sustainable use of biodiversity
- to apply the issues to one’s own field of study/work and learn how to be part of the solution.
